Use Case: Implementing Restricted Access to Classified Documents with the NUTS System for IT Administrators

Primary Actor: IT Administrators (both employees and contractors)  

Challenge: Employees and contractors with IT systems administrator roles are granted privileged access to systems with sensitive information. This is crucial for support and maintenance tasks. Yet, some IT administrators with this heightened access have been found to release or leak confidential data to the detriment to national security.  

Solution: With the introduction of the NUTS system, IT administrators with privileged access can still carry out tasks such as server updates, software setups, data validations, and other IT duties. However, their access will be specifically restricted from viewing classified documents.

Use Case: Streamlining Cybersecurity and Compliance with the NUTS System

Challenge: Managing CUI, EAR, and ITAR documents poses challenges for businesses, especially small businesses and contractors stemming from the absence of affordable and effective remedies. Budgetary limitations often hinder the establishment of essential infrastructure and the acquisition of experts needed to ensure the proper safeguarding and administration of these sensitive documents. This is particularly pronounced in the context of the escalating expenses associated with safeguarding data supply chains, which can impede the involvement of small businesses in DoD contracts.  

Solution: NUTS streamlines the complexities of cybersecurity and compliance for organizations by automating the safeguarding, administration, and distribution of documents subject to CUI, EAR, and ITAR regulations. Through this automation, the strain on internal resources, financial allocations, and operational time is diminished, benefiting both internal processes and the broader supply chain.
